She wrote a memoir about the whole thing and called it "Lucky". Like Brea said, they weren't wrong necessarily, but still, what a thing to say to her. Great interview guys, this was very enlightening and entertaining!! Gotta check this lady's movies out for sure.

  • Holy crap! You interviewed Spencer from INK?! INK and Dead Meat are two of my new favorite things (new to me) from the last 18 months or so. I've been wondering if James and Chelsea saw the series of videos Ice Nine Kills made for the songs on The Silver Scream, and have hoped at least one of my horror podcasts would talk to anyone from the band about being a band and making a single short horror film out of their music videos.

  • The recurring killer in Lucky reminded me of the movie Salvage (2006) for some reason but the ending got me with how it could be anyone who she met with he potential to harm her. 12 Hour Shift really gave me Bottle Rocket (1996) vibes. Great seeing Brea Grant from Heroes & Dexter doing other things behind the camera successfully. Will definitely be getting Mary: The Adventures of Mary Shelley's Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Granddaughter. Looking forward to the next podcast y'all. B~)

  • If “Lucky” the movie with the guy trying to kill her every night I should rewatch it paying more attention. Outside of people getting in the way of themselves and fighting their same demons everyday, or maybe living in situations which threaten are lives figuratively, I did not understand it. I didn’t catch who the character was behind the mask at the end either. I don’t know he deteriorated. I wasn’t paying close attention because I personally wasn’t sucked in and started doing other stuff.

    • Generally if one doesn't really watch a movie, one hasn't watched the movie. It's absurd enough that we as audiences expect to fully comprehend a movie with one sitting considering the amount of data we are bombarded with. But being distracted and watching a movie really defeats the purpose wholly. But it's very common.

  • They did such a good job with this interview! Every question was interesting and not just the same type to question that very interviewers ask. It was also so adorable to see Chelsea fangirl about her favorite director and how she got more and more comfortable in the interview. Obviously Grant is so sympathetic and an amazing director and her attitude in this interview was just so good.

  • Just wanted to say from an actor's point of view; Brea Grant sounds amazing to work with. Her style is so inclusive and trusting, it's the best environment for an actor to work in. Her being an actress herself definitely helps with that connection.

  • I still remember the tag line of 'heroes' "save the cheerleader, save the world" and it is so interesting to grow up with that trope and see it evolve. Lucky was so good and the mirror scene destroyed me. I thought I was seeing something wrong then I was like maybe it's layered mirrors hiding a camera... then her head went down to splash water but stayed in the smaller mirror and It felt like every dream I ever had. no to mention how the face of the follower was everyone and no one at the same time. And then the scene where the talking heads are asking questions repeatedly but not to the person that would answer but to each other; just a seemingly endless call and response turned into a song. some of the comments, interestingly, express that some of these nightmare scenes do not resonate with all people.... how lucky those people must be.

Seriously, always awesome to see a favorite keep making awesome things, even if it's behind the camera now.
