In poor areas both men and women have to keep an eye out and stay alert. Getting mugged, stray bullets in the hood, etc. There's also the "Dad Reflex". it literally saved my life and the guy who saved me wasn't even my dad.

  • What Katie said about how she couldn't stand and run even when her mind was clearly telling her to makes perfect sense. I have this thing called a vasovagal response where your subconscious/ body thinks you're in danger or something so you'll get super nauseas (occasionally throw up), get super sweaty, and then pass out. Which is crazy that your body thinks passing out when your in danger is going to help you at all. I specifically get it when I get blood taken or any sort of IV and after I had back surgery I got it every single time I went in to a doctors office for a follow up about my back. With the blood and IV thing it sort of makes sense because I dont like needles and it does make me nervous but the back thing is so weird because I wasn't nervous, I was completely calm but I think the body remembers the trauma of the surgery and does that anyways. Bodies work in strange ways.
